8th March 2006

Today I looked at Adobe Adition further and my set task today was to produce a 5-10 mintue Podcast on the World Cup 2006. As I wasnt too familar with Football initially I had to research a little so that I could gain more knowledge on the chosen subject.

At 3pm today I went and researched into the impending Football event of Summer 2006. As the World cup is still a few months away it was hard to find information on the England Teams line up, athough a little research helped me gain some idea who might be, as I looked on www.totesport.com, a nationwide bookmakers who had their odds on who will score first out of the England team and also the odds for most likely to win the world cup and obvoiusly who will lose.

So from my reserach I came to start planning my Podcast speech. As I didnt want to sound like it was all scripted I wrote down bullet points and used them as a basis.

So about 4pm I used the Mini Disc player, plus a couple of MIC's and with my group and recorded an excellent piece.

College Radio- Work Experience

Today we had a seminar with Phil our tutor, and he gave us a talk on Adobe Audition. Adobe Audition is similar to Garage Band, and you can produce your own tracks and samples. Adobe Audition was a fairly easy program to use as the HMI was very clear and well constructed. The group all took it in turns to get familar with the new program and I made a sample track using the basic audio samples that already was in the program.

Another agenda for the day was to record a 5-10 Minute PodCast, which could be aired on the college radio. In groups of 3. myself, Jenny and Cat recorded a piece about the Media's influence on Women's diet's. As this was something we had read in the paper only monents before we decided to talk about this subject. Often in radio, the DJ has the paper at hand and they will talk through the subjects that they feel are releveant at the time. This was the object of the podcast.

Other areas that we were allowed to discuss were:

- News & Current Affairs
- Film Reviews
- Local Topics

The Podcast we then produced was put into Adobe Audition and we will be editing it at a later date. Hopefully my Podcast will go onto the College Radio when the Entertainment section is up and running.
